Lets Go Sozopol - Resort Guide RESORT FACTS: Sozopol is a small town south of burgas quickly gaining popularity as one of the main up and coming resorts on the black sea coast. The busiest times of the year are, of course, the summer months, ranging from May to September as tourists from around the world come to enjoy the fine weather, sandy beaches, history and culture, fusion cuisine (Bulgarian, Greek, Turkish), and overall atmosphere of the colourful resort. The increasing popularity of the town has led to it being dubbed the Bulgarian St. Tropez
What to do: Everything is available here, but the most interesting thing is probably the old town with its interesting old-style wooden houses (some of them are national monuments). The town is also famous for hosting the Apollonia art and film festival (which takes place in early September) and is named after one of Sozopol's ancient names. Transport in Sozopol: There are many taxi's available from the 2 main taxi ranks one located at the crossroads of new town and the other located before the pedestrian area of old town. There is a small port in Sozopol's Old Town, it's situated left from the main street. The street leading to the pier is lined with many cafes and small restaurants where you can sample local fish, from there you can get a boat-ride to the island of Saint Ivan or around Sozopol. Internet access: Widely available in the new town Internet cafes on the main street. The cheapest Internet cafe is the one in the building of Central Post office in the new town (BTC). Transport to the resort: Many public buses go from Bourgas and the neighbor resorts to Sozopol. The easiest way is to catch a bus from the Bourgas central railway station or the bus station.
