Guide to Kavarna

Kavarna is situated just 48 km north of Varna.

Kavarna is a small port town. Kavarna is one of the oldest towns on the Bulgarian black sea coast dating from early 5th century BC.
Kavarna was originally situated closer to the sea until an earthquake hit in the Ist century B.C. The old town "Byzone" has been partly submerged into the sea and later, in Roman times, it was rebuilt in its current location.

Kavarna is a peaceful resort with perfect conditions for an enjoyable and relaxing summer holiday. If you like lazy on virtually secluded sandy beaches or strolling along the unspoilt nature trails that run along the surrounding cliffs, this holiday resort is perfect for you.

Located near to the harbour and also in the centre of the town there are several restaurants offering a good range of traditional Bulgarian cuisine, local dishes, seafood, pizzas, salads, spaghetti etc… There are also several small snack bars in the town. Prices here are moderate.

In nearby Balchik there is a small water park which is great for children.
